  • “Thank you for standing beside borrowers when so many of us felt invisible.

Your work has changed lives, and mine is one of them. I hope you continue fighting until every eligible borrower receives not only loan relief but the refunds and accountability they were promised. This case has shown that when organizations like PPSL refuse to give up, ordinary people finally have a chance to be heard. I would be honored to share my story if it helps protect future students from experiencing what so many of us endured.”

    – Denise, a borrower from Florida

  • “The settlement has been life-changing.

After carrying the burden of fraudulent student loan debt for years, I finally feel a sense of relief and justice. It has allowed me to move forward financially and emotionally without the constant stress of debt that never should have existed. Knowing that borrowers were finally heard and that accountability was achieved has restored my faith that change is possible.”

    – Icleia, a borrower from Florida

  • “I am 64 years old. The interest loan on my student loan was more than the actual student loan I took out.

I tried to pay my loans and could only afford the interest and then just had to stop through all the bills and all the years, knowing that this has been hanging over my head and now it is not. It has taken about two weeks for me to fully understand how this has changed my life. I can look to the future without $100,000 debt first and foremost in my head. I can plan for my retirement. I can start planning to give my nieces and nephews a little something after I’m gone from this earth.

    – Esters, a borrower from Nebraska

  • “I feel vindicated. The scam schools were outed and are being held accountable.

I had 303k in loans at one point. I earned a doctorate in clinical psychology but couldn't afford to work in the field. After a few years of private practice, I switched careers due to the monthly loan payment. I couldn't get my head above water. I was told that upon graduation that my salary would be enough to cover my loans which proved to be false. I can't imagine what others went through. I know I wasn't the only one who paid higher interest rates for home and vehicle purchases due to debt to income ratio. However, it's and we can move forward with our lives. Thank you again PPSL.”

    – Krista, a borrower from Texas

  • “The greatest impact has been the release from years of constant stress.

It feels like an enormous weight has been lifted from your chest and you can finally breathe. You can begin imagining a future that includes homeownership, marriage, family, and long-term planning—not planning from desperation, but from possibility.”

$50 For Another $50 Billion

The Project on Predatory Student Lending has spent the past decade exposing and stopping predatory actors in higher education. PPSL’s team of 10 people has delivered transformative results for more than two million borrowers when every other avenue had failed them. We recently won another major victory in court, bringing the total fraudulent student loan debt we have cancelled to $50 billion.

But the fight isn't over. If you're able, please chip in $50 to help power PPSL to take on the next $50 billion in predatory student loan debt.

Together, we can stop more predatory actors and protect future generations from this harm.
